With beaches this good, you’d want to find a holiday park that hugs the coast and, at Quarteira Parc – just 600 metres away from the waves – we’ve found one (main beach is 1.5km away) Quarteira is a pleasant resort, with a happy hum of tourists milling between restaurants, bars and boutiques. The parc offers a swimming pool and play area, as well as water-sports and cycling but don’t forget the Algarve’s world-class coves are just a short stroll away.
Close to one of the Algarve’s most charming resorts, Valverde Parc offers easy living and comfortable accommodation. Praia de Luz is a lovely resort, shaded by lofty pine trees and has resisted the high-rise frenzy of many along this sunkissed coast. Praia de Luz, refreshingly, has retained its authentic core of whitewashed streets, a sprinkling of excellent restaurants and a fabulous, never-too-crowded beach. There is also a new €195 million motor racing circuit, 8 miles from the parc that will house numerous events including the Le Mans Series 1000 km night race in August 2009 - a must for motor-racing fans. Valverde Parc is a well-thought out parc, offering modern accommodation, some pitches with sea views, complimented by manicured gardens, a swimming pool, supermarket and restaurant. Close to a peaceful nature reserve, Valverde offers the chance to explore the other side of the Algarve.
